Almost there! The gates are just up the trail! And that is exactly where Ely found it: the Best Stick in Texas. Ears out like sails, tail up like a flag, he scooped it up and announced a game of keep-away with the whole world. The whole world hasn't caught him yet. Every kid who runs alongside him joins a game that started years ago and — if the trail has anything to say about it — will never, ever end.
