4Gale, the Scout
“Spilling the Wind” by David H. Turner (b. 1961), 2005 · cast bronze · given by Betsy and Clifton Robinson in memory of artist and friend Don Hunt (1940–2011)
The first to spot the zoo from the sky — he's been announcing it ever since.
Every journey needs a scout, and Gale volunteered before anyone finished asking. He rode the river wind from the bridge to the treetops of Cameron Park and spotted the zoo first — and the sculptor caught him at the exact moment he spilled the wind from his wings to land and tell everyone the news. He's still landing. Some announcements are too good to finish.
