A bear in a gold chain guards a waterfall and a honey pot, on a corner store, because Waco.
Somewhere along W Waco Drive the official art map gives up, and walls like this take over. A corner shop wrapped in a purple night: a white waterfall crashing over painted boulders, a black bear standing upright in a chunky gold chain like the neighborhood's appointed doorman, and a giant black pot labeled THE HONEY POT, presumably his. None of it is on any city art registry. The only credit is the one sprayed on the wall itself — the tag @SKCOOBAVELI. As far as the internet is concerned, the photos you're looking at are the best documentation of this wall that exists.
That's the other half of Waco's street art story: for every commissioned, ribbon-cut mural downtown, there's a shopkeeper on a busy road who just wanted a bear on the wall and hired someone with a spray gun and a vision. This stretch has quietly become the most concentrated run of unofficial street art in the city. The map ends here. The paint doesn't.
