A stop on the Waco Sculpture Zoo trail
10Miss Rosa & the Great Egg
“Mother and Child” by Dan D. Brook (b. 1959), 2019 · cast bronze · given by Betsy and Clifton Robinson and Lynn Williams Klatt and family · Waco Sculpture Zoo, a Creative Waco & City of Waco project, dedicated 2020
A mother, her chick, and the biggest egg in Texas. She won't say whose it is.
Miss Rosa was halfway to the zoo when her chick announced it was hungry — and a good mama stops for snack time, no matter how big the parade. So she stopped. On top of the biggest egg in Texas. Whose egg is it? Miss Rosa smiles and says nothing. The chick says it's a dragon's. The turtles down the trail say it's a mystery best left alone. It has not hatched yet. Yet.
