A stop on the Waco Sculpture Zoo trail
6Zip & Zag
“The Kids” by Lori Hough (b. 1955), 2018 · cast bronze
They raced each other the entire way here. It's still not settled.
Zip and Zag raced each other the whole way to Waco — over rivers, around mountains, through at least one very confused farmers market. When they reached these two stumps by the Brazos they both yelled 'I WIN!' at the exact same moment, and they've been frozen mid-argument ever since. The plaque calls them 'The Kids.' Anyone with a brother or sister calls them familiar.
