It is a postcard, painted the size of a building. CHEERS From WACO runs across the top in fat cream letters with a little Texas beside the O, and under it is the whole town in one picture. Jacob’s Ladder, the old stone stairway in Cameron Park, climbs the left edge with its signpost. The suspension bridge’s towers stand at the back, the river runs blue under them, and the ALICO building rises on the right with its dome and red sign. Front and center, two riders roll toward you — a mountain biker in a helmet on a fat-tire bike and a road cyclist in a white jersey tucked over the drops — on a road that comes out of the picture onto the sidewalk.

Go around the corner and the postcard keeps going. A vertical red sign says WE RUN WACO, a diamond sign for the Waco Running Company hangs off a red brick building with a blue awning and garage door, and a tall beer bottle stands beside a pair of full pint glasses, because this is a cheers, after all. The wall belongs to the Bicycle World building at 116 Mary Avenue, which explains the bikes. Kalyn Dunks painted it and signed the corner K.Dunks Creative 2022; Creative Waco lists it as Cheers From Waco. It is the fifth Kalyn Dunks wall on this trail, after City With a Soul behind the Findery, the wings on Austin Avenue, Made to Bloom and the typewriter on La Salle.
