A pint glass two stories tall, filled from a chrome tap that is also painted, with a real fire hydrant standing at the bottom.
Cade Kegerreis signs his walls @cadekeg, which is either a good coincidence or a very good decision, and this one is his: a single enormous pint glass on the pale blue-grey wall of Southern Roots Brewing, wheat and hops painted around it, a cherry in the mix, and a chrome tap faucet up top pouring into the glass.
Kegerreis is a Waco native who took an art degree at Baylor in 2017 and has since put more than two dozen murals around town, so a good share of the walls people photograph here came off the same brush. What makes this one work is the scale decision — the glass runs nearly the full height of the wall, so the tap ends up in a place no tap would ever be, and the whole thing turns into a piece of plumbing for giants.
The fire hydrant at the base is real, not painted. It sits there like the punchline.
